Taro Village is one of the oldest spiritual and agricultural communities on the island of Bali. Founded over a thousand years ago by the legendary sage Rsi Markandeya, our village is famous for its sacred white cows, pristine bamboo forests, and ancient organic rice fields.

Our family has lived, farmed, and prayed inside Taro village for generations. We live according to the Balinese philosophy of Tri Hita Karana—the three causes of prosperity: maintaining harmony with God, harmony among people, and harmony with our natural environment.

The Story of Our Family Business: From Driver to Host

For many years, Tut Taro worked as a private driver and tour guide around Ubud. During his daily drives, he noticed a common pattern: guests loved the natural beauty of Bali, but they felt disconnected from the real local culture.

Most tours took guests to crowded commercial shops, large buffet restaurants, and high-pressure souvenir markets. Guests rarely had the chance to sit inside a real Balinese home, talk with locals, or learn how our crafts are actually made.

To change this, Tut Taro and his family decided to open their own home and organic farm to travelers. We started with our hands-on Balinese cooking school, and over the years, we collaborated with expert local artisans to create private workshops in silversmithing, wood carving, miniature painting, and natural incense making.

Today, our boutique Travel Agency Ubud connects hundreds of conscious travelers with the true, unhurried soul of our island.
